The lectures on Monday and Tuesday were held at the Royal Institution. You may have seen this amazing place if you have watched the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures.
It was founded in 1799 with the aim of introducing new technologies and teaching science to the general public. It’s address is 21 Albermarle Street London W1S 4BS and anyone can become a member.
One of them most famous members of the RI was Michael Faraday. It was he that started the famous Christmas lectures.
The lecture theatre hasn’t changed much since Fraday’s day and it feels amazing to stand behind the bench knowing that you are standing where he stood.
Faraday would probably be puzled by the mac laptop but it is thanks to him in part that we have such devices.
